Our Vineyards |
We currently have 7 acres of land under vine, with plans to expand that number to just shy of 10 acres over the next several years. Our vineyards are hand planted on well-drained soils, made up of tatum gravelly loam and Carolina clay; the gentle slopes and full sunshine on our 70-acre estate allow for a variety of different types of grapes to grow abundantly. Cool mornings and refreshing breezes contribute to our wonderful terroir, making the estate a perfect home for our vines.
Currently planted acres of grapes include Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Traminette, Merlot, Syrah, and Grüner Veltliner. Additionally, we host a half acre test bed vineyard with rotating varietals that we can study and evaluate for future plantings. Our test bed area allows us to rotate plants and trial new farming techniques that we can apply to the vineyard as a whole; it is an integral part of our long term sustainability strategy.
We take a sustainable approach to our vineyard, limiting the use of herbicides and pesticides and using instead methods that are more environmentally friendly such as clay protectants and integrated pest management with cover crops, manual weed management, organic compost, and beneficial insects to combat nature's grape & vine enemies (like Sharpshooters and caterpillars). You may see a few more weeds and life in our vineyard compared to others, but we feel that is a small price to pay to not have high levels of non-sustainable elements in our soil.
The vineyard serves as the perfect frame for our dazzling views of Crowders Mountain and The Pinnacle. We hope you will make time to visit and admire the view among our beautiful Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Traminette, Merlot, Syrah, and Grüner Veltliner vines.

Can you guess how many vines are found in our vineyards?
Why North Carolina
For over two decades, our family has lived and loved in North Carolina. How can we describe our beautiful state? Beaches on one coast and mountains on the other, charming people, and the simple pleasures of life define North Carolina. When an old pine tree farm became available, we knew that we wanted to have our own piece of rustic North Carolina to escape to. As we looked out toward the mountains and dreamed about the future, we couldn't shake the feeling that this land was meant to become a wonderful vineyard.
That feeling led us to embark on a whirlwind of research and discussion with viticulturists, farm cooperatives, and local soil experts who helped us ensure that our estate would be the ideal home for grape vines. Nearly two years of hard work turned this pine tree farm into an escape that we love to share with you. We hope our beautiful vines and stunning views take your breath away and remind you to slow down a bit, laugh a little more often, and make memories with those you love - just the way it did for us.
